Description

The Estimator plays a key role in the preparation and analysis of project costs by collaborating with professionals and subcontractors. They are responsible for breaking down, understanding, and calculating the quantities of materials, labor, and equipment required for each project. The Estimator actively contributes to project profitability and feasibility by identifying risks, proposing cost-optimization solutions, and ensuring accurate budget tracking.

  • Analyze plans, specifications and calls for tenders.
  • Interpret client needs and technical requirements.
  • Issue invitations to bid.
  • Estimate the unit cost of materials, labor, machinery, and subcontractors.
  • Perform takeoffs: calculate the quantities of materials, labor, and equipment required.
  • Prepare bids, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
  • Respond to technical questions from operations during project execution.
  • Make regular calls and follow-ups with subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar or related role with a general contractor.
  • The candidate must be legally authorized to work in Canada (Canadian citizen or permanent resident)
